Country kid and all-round champion fella Will Pratt was outstanding in the 2nd grades defeat to Port Adelaide at Woodville Oval.
Will with figures of 4/30 from 15 overs, which included 9 maidens, was the best of the Woodville bowlers, restricting PA to 264 on a flat Woodville pitch.
Unfortunately, the batsman weren’t able to back up the good bowling performance, skittled for 131 after being 0/82. Pratty opening the batting was steady for 16 off 64 balls.
PA were quick to send the Woodville batsman back out and Pratty made sure there would be no outright defeat. With the help of club coach Sam McNally (Slash for J.Hoffman) the two put on 178 for the first wicket. Sam was the first to depart for 88 before Will was eventually dismissed 5 short of his maiden Woodville ton (95 off 128 balls).
This is just rewards for Will who travels from Blyth each week to train and play, using the drive down to gain those valuable hours in the learner’s driving log book and the trip home to do his homework.
Great stuff Will!!
